Celestite Heart

A heart-shaped celestite geode.

Celestite (also known as celestine) is a strontium sulfate mineral found in Britain, Egypt, Libya, Madagascar, Mexico, Peru, and Poland. It is typically in the form of light blue crystals in geodes; however, massive and fibrous celestite can occur sometimes. The world's largest known geode is a celestite geode measuring 35 feet (11 meters) in diameter at its widest point. It is located near the village of Put-in-Bay, Ohio (on South Bass Island in Lake Erie). The geode has been converted for viewing and is known as Crystal Cave. This extra-large celestite geode has celestite crystals as wide as 18 inches (46 cm) across, estimated to weigh up to 300 pounds (140 kg) each!

Celestite has a high vibration that is great for meditation. It stimulates clairvoyant communication, dream recall, and out-of-body experiences. Celestite is a great facilitator for deep states of meditation because it helps to calm the mind and open it to communication from the higher realms. This mineral is a perfect companion to use during dream time. It will assist in recalling the specific details of one’s dreams. Information imparted during the dream state will also be recalled with perfect clarity when celestite is nearby when one sleeps. Celestite jump-starts spiritual development and urges you toward enlightenment. It is revered for its high frequency and is known as a powerful healing crystal. Celestite allows for the free-flow of these higher frequencies into the Crown, Third-Eye, and Throat Chakras for expression. Celestite can relieve stress, anxiety, and obsessive behaviors. It is a perfect piece to carry for those who are singers, actors or speakers, as the energy will alleviate any type of stage fright or nervousness. Celestite gives courage to those who live with agoraphobia or a fear of public speaking. It can be beneficial for shy or timid children to try new experiences. Celestite brings harmony and balance, and will assist the holder in finding and maintaining inner peace. Its ability to heighten divine intuition makes celestite especially useful for Reiki practice. Metaphysically, celestite sends energy to the organs of the higher chakras; thereby, aiding the healing of brain imbalances, cellular disorders, and ailments of eyes, ears, nose, & throat. Celestite can also act as a detoxifier and pain reliever. Those with Gemini or Libra as their astrological sun signs will benefit most from the metaphysical effects of celestite. Hold celestite and affirm: “Eternal light fills my being.”

Celestite is very fragile and should be handled carefully. Do not keep celestite in direct sunlight because the color will fade if exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Do not submerge celestite in water. Recharge celestite by wrapping the stone in a soft blue cloth and setting it in a drawer or box for up to two days.
